SWEEPSTAKES DESCRIPTION
The Michigan Education Trust (MET) 35th Anniversary Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) begins on Thursday, May 26, 2022, and ends on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
A random drawing from all eligible entries received will be conducted after the close of the Sweepstakes period, at or about 12:00 p.m. ET on or about Tuesday, September 6, 2022, to select one hundred (100) winners. Each winner will receive one MET 529 plan deposit of $15,000 (“Prize”). An alternate winner will be selected, in the order they were drawn, to award a prize if a winner forfeits a prize.
Please read these Official Rules carefully before entering the Sweepstakes. By entering the Sweepstakes, you agree that you have read, and are bound by, the terms and conditions set forth below as if you had actually signed them. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions set forth below, you may not participate in the Sweepstakes. By entering the Sweepstakes, you acknowledge and agree that these Official Rules are a legally binding contract between you and MET. MET may modify the terms and conditions of these Official Rules as described below, and you agree to familiarize yourself with any modifications which will be posted at the Sweepstakes website at www.METGiveaway.com.
ELIGIBILITY
Entry in the Sweepstakes is limited to legal United States residents residing in Michigan who are 18 years old or older on August 31, 2022 (“Eligible Entrant”).
Employees, directors and officers, and the immediate family members of employees of MET, and of Güd Marketing, Inc. and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and companies involved in the design, implementation, and execution of the Sweepstakes (collectively, the “Sweepstakes Entities”) are not eligible to enter or win.
HOW TO ENTER
Only Eligible Entrants may enter the Sweepstakes or win a Prize. There are two ways to enter the Sweepstakes: on-line and by mail. To enter on-line, an Eligible Entrant must submit a completed entry form online at www.METGiveaway.com (“Official Entry Form”) between 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on Thursday, May 25, 2022, and 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Eligible Entrants who do not wish to enter on-line may enter by mail. To enter by mail, an Eligible Entrant should complete an Official Entry Form (which is available on-line at www.METGiveaway.com ) and mail it to “MET 35th Anniversary Sweepstakes”, c/o Güd Marketing, 1223 Turner Street, Suite 101, Lansing, MI 48906. All entries must be received on-line or postmarked during the Sweepstakes Period, and all mail-in entries must be postmarked on or before Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Entries postmarked after the Sweepstakes Period, or in violation of these Official Rules are void.
Limit one entry per Eligible Entrant regardless of the method of entry. No copies, facsimiles or mechanical reproductions will be accepted. Multiple entries in contravention of these Official Rules, or entries generated by a script, macro, or other automated means, will be disqualified. Entries that are incomplete are void. MET is not responsible for lost, late, stolen, damaged, misdirected, or illegible entries. All entries become property of MET and will not be returned.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
A random drawing from all eligible entries received will be conducted as described above. Prizes will be provided by MET. A Prize will be awarded:
1) To the Winner if the Winner meets the eligibility criteria established in these Official Rules, and
2) If the Winner names a beneficiary who is a legal Michigan resident between the ages of 0 and 5 years old, and
3) If the Winner and the parent/legal guardian of the beneficiary executes an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability & Public Release Form prepared by MET.
MET will provide the Winner with an IRS W-9 MISC for tax purposes. Taxes or fees, if any, on the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner. If the Winner cannot accept the Prize in conformity of these Official Rules, the Prize will be forfeited. An alternate winner will be awarded a forfeited prize in the order they were drawn.
PRIZES

Limit one (1) Prize per Eligible Entrant. No more than one Prize may be awarded to the same beneficiary.
GENERAL PRIZE CONDITIONS
MET will not permit substitution, transfer, assignment or payment of a cash equivalent of the Prize except that MET, in its sole discretion, may substitute the Prize with a prize of equal or greater value as a result of the Prize becoming unavailable. In order to collect a Prize, a Winner and parent/legal guardian of the beneficiary shall provide express written consent to MET to use the Winner’s name and likeness, without compensation, in any and all advertising and promotional materials, including the promotional website relating to the Sweepstakes, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, including, but not limited to the World Wide Web. The Winner and parent/legal guardian of the beneficiary shall waive any right to notification, review, or approval of any such use and further agree to provide any additional written consent to any such as may be reasonably requested by MET. Entering the Sweepstakes gives MET all rights to use any Eligible Entrant’s sweepstakes submission content in any capacity without compensation. The Winners shall have no claim (including, without limitation, claims based on invasion of privacy, defamation, or right of publicity) arising out of any use, blurring, alteration, or use in composite form of his or her name, likeness, address (city and state), email address, biographical information, or information provided in the Official Entry Form.
MET makes no warranties, and hereby disclaims any and all warranties, express or implied, in connection with the Sweepstakes.
GENERAL
Any costs associated with accepting or redeeming the Prize, including taxes, fees, or expenses will be the responsibility of the Winner and not MET or the Sweepstakes Entities. Winner shall forfeit any prize not accepted in its entirety. All Eligible Entrants, including all Winners, agree that MET and the Sweepstakes Entities have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of the Prize or participation in this Sweepstakes.
The rights granted under this paragraph shall extend to MET and the Sweepstakes Entities and with respect to all Eligible Entrants in the Sweepstakes, including non-winners and the Winners.
Any attempt by an Eligible Entrant or any other individual to tamper with the entry and/or random selection process, or otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes may be in violation of criminal and civil laws and MET reserves the right to cooperate in the prosecution of such individuals. Failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. If for any reason the Sweepstakes is not capable of being executed as planned, or unauthorized intervention, fraud, action of Eligible Entrants, technical failures or any other causes which in the sole opinion of MET, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, MET reserves the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any incomplete entry and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes.
All federal, state, and local regulations apply. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law. The Sweepstakes is presented as a promotion of MET pursuant to Michigan Compiled Law 750.372(2). To the extent the Sweepstakes is determined to be outside the protection of MCL 750.372(2) or otherwise prohibited by law, it is void.
GOVERNING LAW
ALL ISSUES AND QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION, VALIDITY, INTERPRETATION AND ENFORCEABILITY OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES OR THE RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF ENTRANTS OR THE SWEEPSTAKES ENTITIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE SWEEPSTAKES SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN WITHOUT GIVING EFFECT TO ANY CHOICE OF LAW OR CONFLICT OF LAW RULES OR PROVISIONS THAT WOULD CAUSE THE APPLICATION OF ANY OTHER STATE’S LAWS.
